SiteIQ

Background

Creating SiteIQ imposed many challenges, being the first SaaS application for the company in 30 years. Although RMS has been a market leader in the space of catastrophe models (natural disasters, terrorism, cyber), the software presence was limited. SiteIQ was the first ever SaaS product to launch and establish RMS as a modern SaaS application brand. The purpose of the product was to help property underwriters and coverholders make quality decisions with confidence in real-time.

Research & Solution

With customer interviews and research, we identified the customer’s pain points, including lack of comprehensive view of risk, latency (in days!) to collect and calibrate data, no means to credibly share location reports with colleagues or compare results with the company’s risk policy. Through several design iterations, validated with customers and key partners, we built SiteIQ to leverage RMS catastrophe model data and Location Intelligence service to bring intuitive and comprehensive risk insights. The customer enters a location’s address, and instantly (under one second) gets complete hazard information, risk scores, and loss costs which then can be shared or exported. Flexible and fully-customizable application settings, simplified hazard information, color-coded risk score score and other high features make SiteIQ a great fit for B2B customers and consumers alike.

The Process

With quick design iterations, establishing technical feasibility for advanced features, such as integration with the 3rd party data providers, the new product was developed in under 9-months. Its announcement during Exceednace, the largest RMS International conference, resulted in acquiring new customers and revenue growth. Furthermore, SaaS services and the Design System powering SiteIQ have accelerated GTM for other new SaaS applications in the RMS product portfolio and create a connected, consistent, branded experience for the RMS brand.
